- How do I connect to a CS2 community server?
- Enable the console under Settings, Game, Enable Developer Console, press the tilde key in the main menu and type connect followed by the address and port from the server card. Alternatively paste the same address into the community server browser under Favourites so it stays in your list.
- What is a retake server and who is it for?
- A retake server drops you straight into the post-plant round: the bomb is down, the T side is holding, and the CT side buys a randomised loadout and has to take the site back. It is the fastest way to drill utility line-ups, crossfires and site clears because you play dozens of the same scenario per hour.
- Do community servers affect my Premier rating or drops?
- No. Your CS Rating only moves in official Premier matches, and weekly care package rewards come from playing on Valve's official servers. Community servers are for practice, custom modes and having fun with an unranked group, so nothing you do on them touches your competitive record.
- Is tickrate still worth checking in CS2?
- Less than it was. CS2 uses sub-tick updates, so the old 128-tick versus 64-tick argument matters far less for shooting than it did in CS:GO. What still varies between servers is location and routing, so pick one physically close to you and watch the ping column before you settle in.
